Thomas Hopkins

My name is Thomas Hopkins.

 

I am applying for the OTBU EARAO officer position. I have been the Human Rights Officer at District 26 level since the conception of the new position last year and can add to the OTBU by taking part in this position.

 

I have developed and executed many plans for the EARAO district committee and been chair of the last 2 EARAO district meetings this past year. I have developed a repoire with my colleagues and was able to get more delegates to attend the Human Rights Conference as representatives for District 26. As well, I have been able to work with delegates who attended the first EARAO conference in the fall of 2023.

I am dedicated to helping teachers to having their voices heard and stop the abuses that occur at the local level. I am striving to ensure that we have a stronger educational voice in the coming years and that everyone is represented at the table.

I have gained the confidence and respect of my fellow colleagues and they know that I will be there to represent them in times of hardship or need a new approach in dealing with injustices in the board or at individual schools.
