 JOB TITLE: District Officer
 BARGAINING UNIT: TBU

As an experienced release officer and proven leader within OSSTF District 26, I am seeking your support for my candidacy as TBU President.

I have served as your District Officer for five years and have developed an in-depth knowledge and skill set of all aspects of union work. I have stood by our members during their most challenging moments, extending personalized support and facilitating access to resources. From navigating leaves to advocating for workplace accommodations, I have provided unwavering representation in HR meetings, ensuring our members' voices are heard and their rights upheld. I have firsthand experience with contract negotiations and maintenance, grievance and arbitration, and the various aspects of the collective bargaining process both centrally and locally. My comprehension of the TBU collective agreement and processes, alongside a firm grasp of pertinent legislation governing education and labour relations, enables me to answer questions quickly and provide guidance to members.

Beyond my district responsibilities, I have contributed to shaping the future of our union at the provincial level. As a member of the Community Organizing workgroup, I am dedicated to formulating a cohesive strategy to propel positive change within OSSTF and public education. Additionally, my previous role as Vice-Chair of the Provincial OSSTF Communication and Political Action Committee underscores my commitment to fostering member engagement and empowerment through strategic communication initiatives. Participating in numerous Provincial OSSTF training sessions and workgroups has augmented my skills and insights, further preparing me to lead with confidence and efficiency.

As your TBU President, my vision is to champion secondary teachers' rights and working conditions by leveraging our union’s collective strength and employing innovative organizing tactics. I will continue to foster open communication channels with our members and forge collaborative partnerships with school leadership, all while delivering unparalleled service and advocacy on their behalf.
