Jadvinder Bhathal

My name is Jadvinder Bhathal. I have been a CBC rep at both schools that I have worked at and currently hold the position of CBC chair on the TBU executive. I have recently attended the provincial AMPA conference and the provincial PSC (Protective Services Council) conference which works to help train and empower members of district executives. Sitting on the executive has shown me the dedication and hard work that is needed to support and protect the rights of our membership.

 

I have spent most of my life involved with the UCDSB either as a student at Commonwealth Public School and later at Thousands Islands Secondary School or as teacher in the east (GDHS), and now the West (CPHS). I am a father of two wonderful boys and an avid outdoors person with a relaxed approach to life.

 

I have been a classroom teacher now for 23 plus years and love my job. As a lifelong learner, I am prepared to move on to challenge myself in a new direction and serve what I know is the backbone of education, teachers.

 

I have involved myself in numerous school initiatives, clubs, and community outreach events throughout the years but most consistently as a coach. Education does not end in the classroom and some of my fondest memories from my own school years came from them.

 

I am prepared to do my best, to be that strong leader, who is confident and can command respect when dealing with what is often combative situations with respect to the board.
