As per the district constitutions, "4.4.1 The District President shall, prior to March 31st in each year, invite nominations to all available District positions outlined in bylaw 4.1 and post nomination forms on the District website." Please find below the candidates who have put their name forward for this election period.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure the D26 Office receives this nomination form. This nomination form is for District and all Bargaining Unit (Teacher, Occasional or PSSP) executive positions. You do not need a colleague to nominate you. Submit this form by no later then 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2026 for Bargaining Unit positions, and 4:00 pm, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 for District positions. Candidates seeking more than one position should complete this form separately for each position. The positions are listed below, but will also be on the form as a drop-down menu for you to choose from.
All candidates running for an executive position are expected to read and follow the OSSTF District 26: District Election Policies and Procedures.
PSSP Bargaining Unit terms are 1 (One) year - July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
TBU, OTBU and District terms are 2 (two) year terms - July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2028
As per the Elections Policies and Procedures,
- Campaigning can begin on April 2, 2026 until May 7th (BUs) or 12th (District), 2026 AGMs
- Candidates can spend up to $300 on campaign expenses
- Any campaign materials that a candidate wishes to distribute to members must be received by the Elections Officer, Hongli Ren, on one or both of these dates:
- Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 no later than 4:00 PM
- Monday, April 28, 2026 no later than 4:00 PM
The Annual General Meetings for All Bargaining Units will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at North Grenville Municipal Centre, 285 County Road 44, starting at 3:00 PM. More information to follow. The District AGM will be held virtually on Zoom Tuesday, May 12th. More details to follow.
