My name is Thomas Hopkins and I am running for OTBU’s EARAO Officer.
I have been a member of OSSTF for 26 years and have worked as the OTBU EARAO officer for the past two years, I have worked on the CfED committee where I collaborated with others to create initiatives that recognize and appreciate people of different racial groups, creeds, ethnicity, genders, sexual orientation and mental or physical abilities, and promote the participation of equity-seeking groups within District 26.
For the past 2 years, I have worked to ensure successful campaigns, organized PD workshops on Racism, Equality and Inclusion for OTs on PD Days.
I am the Provincial Human Rights officer and with the OTBU executive committee to put the unheard voices affected by issues of inclusion at the forefront.
I am dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion, and human dignity for all people.
Moving forward I plan to support the prevention of discrimination and harassment through EARAO initiatives at the provincial and local levels in training and professional development.
My experiences have helped me gain more knowledge and ideas to support OT’s in this district, by creating a stronger line of communication, where I aim to address the most current needs of our members.
Re-elect Thomas Hopkins for OTBU EARAO Officer!
