My name is Thomas Hopkins and I’m running for OTBU President.
With over 25 years in teaching, I have the experience to look after the needs of occasional teachers. We need strong leadership throughout bargaining and the year with day to day things. As we head into a new round of collecting bargaining, I’m determined to get a great deal for OTs! I’m currently on the bargaining committee and will continue into the next round.
I’ve been your VP for the last few years and I have also been secretary, EARAO officer, and District Human Rights Officer for D26 since I came to this board.
Provincially, I am on the Human Rights Committee and was elected as chair of the committee. One of my main goals this year will be to be putting a new provincial anti-harassment policy in place.
I know how to plan and to develop new strategies that will make your job easier, as an occasional teacher, including making it easier to find information and to reach me when things go wrong. I will be developing a new website and easily accessible information. This will be made into a booklet for those who want information at your fingertips!
I am looking forward to building a strong executive team that works for you.
I as many as you know, I have strong opinions and I am willing to fight for you, and I will always give you accurate information, or feedback, when you need it.
I am asking you to vote for me as your next OTBU President!
