With 18 years of active involvement in OSSTF District 26, I am seeking the position of Teacher Bargaining Unit (TBU) Vice-President to continue advocating for members with a strong, informed, and experienced voice.
Throughout my 18 years with OSSTF District 26, I have taken on leadership roles that span the classroom, the bargaining unit, and the district. I first served as TBU Vice-President for four years, gaining early experience at the executive table. I later chaired Educational Services—introducing the teacher planners our members still rely on—and contributed to two provincial committees, broadening my understanding of system-level issues. Alongside this work, I continued to support members directly through my role as Branch Steward. For the past two years, I have served as District President, representing members across all bargaining units and strengthening my understanding of district-wide operations and governance.
Last year, as District President, I had the opportunity to sit on the TBU, contributing to discussions and decision-making processes. While I valued the ability to share my perspective, I was not in a position to vote. I am running for TBU Vice-President because I want to ensure that my experience and insight translate into direct action and decision-making power in support of our members.
I am committed to protecting member rights, strengthening working conditions, and ensuring fair and transparent processes. I bring a collaborative approach, a strong institutional knowledge base, and a willingness to ask hard questions when necessary. Most importantly, I am dedicated to ensuring that members feel heard, supported, and represented.
I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving and advocating on your behalf.
