 WORKSITE:  Tagwi Secondary School
 JOB TITLE: Guidance Teacher
 BARGAINING UNIT: TBU

Dear Colleague,

I am seeking your support as I run for the position of District President of OSSTF District 26. I have been a proud member of the Teacher’s Bargaining Unit for nearly 20 years and have been actively involved at both the worksite and district levels. I have served as a Collective Agreement Officer and Union Steward and have been a Vice-President on the TBU Executive since 2021.

I am an active member of both the local and provincial CPAC committees and contribute to the District Organising Sub-Committee. I also previously served as a long-time member of the Services Review Committee. These experiences have provided me with a strong understanding of how our District operates and how to effectively support members.

As a Guidance Teacher, I work closely with colleagues across multiple bargaining units, including PSSP members, and understand the diverse challenges they face. I am also aware of the issues impacting the OTBU, including the growing concern around precarious work and the use of unqualified personnel.

I bring a strong understanding of current legislation, the political climate, and the issues affecting education workers both locally and provincially. I am committed to ensuring that member workload is respected, that health and safety concerns are addressed appropriately, and that District resources are managed with fiduciary responsibility and transparency.

With collective bargaining ahead, I will be a strong, steady, and unwavering voice for OSSTF District 26. Having served on the TBU brief writing and contract negotiating teams for the past two cycles, I am prepared to advocate effectively on behalf of all members.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.

Yours in Federation,

Brandon
