 WORKSITE:  District Office
JOB TITLE: Chief Negotiator/Contract Maintenance Officer
 BARGAINING UNIT: TBU

As Chief Negotiator for the last 3 years, I have remained firmly committed to protecting our Collective Agreement rights and defending public education. I am seeking your support to continue in this role and to lead the TBU through the next round of bargaining.

During my tenure, I have successfully:

  • Negotiated the 2022-2026 local collective agreement
  • Finalized the SST/LNR workload remedy for grievances spanning 2009-2020
  • Secured a settlement for the simultaneous online/in-person COVID-19 grievance
  • Negotiated clearer expectations for principals to demonstrate “reasonable effort” when considering split classes
  • Resolved the Grade 9 Baseline Testing grievance
  • Secured a settlement for the COVID-19 virtual school grievance

My involvement in OSSTF spans two decades, culminating in my current position.   I am active at the provincial level as a member of the Collective Bargaining Advisory Workgroup, which advises the provincial negotiating team for central bargaining, and a member of the Environmental Advisory Workgroup, where we have been working on language for our collective agreements to encourage school boards to reduce their environmental footprint and mitigate the impacts of climate change in schools.

Protecting public education remains my highest priority.  As Chief Negotiator, I will continue to build productive relationships with the board and advocate in the best interests of our members.  My leadership is rooted in collaboration, ensuring the TBU executive operates cohesively and strategically as we navigate the challenges ahead.
