Changes to Provincial OSSTF Certification Rules:  NEW This link to the Provincial OSSTF website provides an overview of the recent changes to certification which may benefit many of our members. A "must read" for all members as there will be many certification changes effective September 1, 2008. When on this page, you will have an opportunity to view all certifications rule changes in the past. <Click here> to be redirected to the Certification Form #2 which must be completed and submitted to the OSSTF Certification Department for re-evaluation.  Inform the Board immediately – Human Resources, in writing, that you have applied to OSSTF Certification for an updated Rating Statement. <Click here> to view a sample letter you can use.

Types of Certificates/Documents:  this link provides an overview of the types of certification, rating statements, and documents issued by the OSSTF, College of Teachers, and Ministry of Education.  It also provides links to other sites should members need to convert some of these certificates/documents. A "must read" for all members as many of these certificate/documents have expiry dates.

OSSTF Certification Department Overview:  this link will provide a brief overview of what the OSSTF Certification Department does, and important links for appeals, FAQs, Recent Changes to Certification etc.

Understanding the Salary Grid:  explains what factors affect your salary - related experience and the Group Rating statement provided by the OSSTF.  A "must read" for all members.

New Teacher - Initial Salary Grid Placement:  explains what new teachers must do to ensure they are being paid correctly.  This includes how to submit related experience and how to apply for a Group Rating statement from OSSTF.

Changing Group:  explains what must be done when a teacher is changing Group (Category).  This usually occurs by way of completing approved courses.  This link includes application procedures, when members change Groups etc.
